Join us for an afternoon of culture, community, and
celebration as we honor 22 years of the Sejong Cultural
Society’s mission to share the richness of Korean heritage
through literature, poetry, and music.
Enjoy a delicious luncheon with community and
cultural leaders, a compelling keynote address by
Emmy Award-winning sociologist Dr. Sam Richards,
and inspiring performances that highlight the beauty of
Korean tradition.

Dr. Sam Richards
Professor of Sociology, Penn State University
Dr. Sam Richards is an Emmy Award-winning professor and sociologist
at Penn State University, internationally recognized for his fearless and empathetic approach.
He teaches Race and Ethnic Relations, the largest course of its kind in the world,
with 800 students each semester and over 370,000 global subscribers across 210 countries.
The class is live-streamed and has gained more than 400 million views.
Dr. Richards co-founded World in Conversation to promote cross-cultural dialogue.
His TEDx talk, “A Radical Experiment in Empathy,” reflects
his belief that empathy is central to sociology.
Also a Distinguished Professor at Konkuk University in Seoul,
he is widely recognized for his insights into Korean society—
often called “an American who loves Korea more than Koreans.”
